St Edmund Campion Primary, Maidenhead
The Catenian mentor has introduced the primary school Dragons Den type team to the local foodshare organiser that they were donating to as a school. Following discussions we are now embarking on two projects to help the foodshare.
1 Digging over a large parcel of land that is then going to be transformed into a community garden with allotments to help people learn how to grow their own food.
2 Makeover of the existing foodshare shop to include new shelving units. This is being done by competitions across the whole school to design the interior walls and external shop front window. The school council are meeting to decide how to run this competition. Parents will be asked to donate their trade skills to build the shelving and the winning artists will help to paint their designs.
This will pick up pace in the term of 6th June onwards as this will be after SATs and the Year 6 children will have more time to get away from school and have a rest from revision classes!
